Day 122

Today's Lesson:

Forgiveness offers everything I want.

No matter what we want - happiness, beauty, quietness, care and safety - forgiveness offers us, and more. It is the perfect answer, given to imperfect questions, meaningless requests, halfhearted willingness to hear, and less than halfway diligence and partial trust.

God's plan for our salvation cannot change, nor can it fail. Be thankful it remains exactly as He planned it. Forgive and be forgiven. As we give we will receive. There is no plan but this for the salvation of the Son of God. We can look upon a happy world of safety and of peace today. Forgiveness is the means by which it comes to take the place of hell.

Today it will be given us to feel the peace forgiveness offers, and the joy the lifting of the veil holds out to us. Forgiveness offers everything we want. Today all things we want are given us.

Be tempted not to let your gifts slip by and drift into forgetfulness, but hold them firmly in your mind by your attempts to think of them at least a minute as each quarter of an hour passes by. Remind yourself how precious are these gifts with this reminder, which has power to hold your gifts in your awareness through the day:

Forgiveness offers everything I want.
Today I have accepted this as true.
Today I have received the gifts of God.

Miracles I'm noticing:

If we're really honest, we will see that whatever it is we think we really want can actually be boiled down to something like happiness or love or peace. If we think we want "stuff," it's actually because we think that "stuff" will make us happy. If we think we want the right relationship, it's because we think that relationship will give us love and make us happy. Today's lesson reminds us that forgiveness will give us everything we think we want.

It's important for me to remember what I really want - beyond the stuff and the security and the friends. If I desire a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world; care and safety, warmth of sure protection always; quietness that cannot be disturbed, gentleness that can never be hurt, a deep abiding comfort, and a rest so perfect it can never be upset, forgiveness is the answer.

That means forgiving myself for things I may not even remember; and forgiving others for things they may not have even done. Forgiveness - giving before - is a great way to see the entire world. It helps me give up judgment and negativity and fear. And that is a miracle!
